The Plustek OpticFilm 81i SE models come with the SE Plus version of SilverFast 8, while the 8200i Ai model ships with SilverFast 8 Ai with extended functionality such customizeable NegaFix profiles and IT8 calibration. SilverFast software comes with tutorial movies that offer step-by-step introductions to the various settings and features for beginners. SilverFast 8 supports iSRD infrared scratch and dust removal, selective color correction, multi exposure for enhanced dyncamic range, NegaFix profiles for various color negative film emulsions and a number of other helpful tools. While the 7-series models shipped with SilverFast 6.6, the 8-series models now come with the improved version 8 of the world’s leading film scanning software. The Plustek 8-series scanners, just like the Plustek 7-series scanners that were introduced in 2010, are dedicated 35mm film scanners that scan both negative and positive film. According to the press release, the new models feature improved optics and LED-illumination.
